The Caribbean Tourism Organization have announced that they will launch a scholarship initiative with the aim to help the young Caribbean women who want to pursue studies and career paths in the tourism sector.
The announcement of the initiative was made before a major event being hosted by the organisation, the Caribbean Women in Tourism Leadership Dinner & Awards. The event will take place during Caribbean week June 1, 2026 at InterContinental New York Times Square, New York.
According to reports, the main aim of the scholarship is to support the women from the Caribbean region and in shaping young women into strong leaders in tourism. Through the scholarship the organisation will provide annual financial support to one female student from the Caribbean region pursuing studies related to tourism or tourism linked fields.
The Caribbean Tourism Organization is gearing up to host the programme “From Her to Her”: From Today’s Female Leaders to Tomorrow’s Tourism Stars. Through this initiative, the women will have the opportunity of achieving academic goals which further position them for leadership roles in the tourism industry in future.
Additionally, the funds generated through the event Caribbean Women in Tourism Leadership Dinner & Awards will be directly used as scholarship funds through the CTO Foundation.
In the event the Caribbean Tourism Organization will honor the leading female in Caribbean tourism. The honorees will be from the tourism industry including ministers and directors of tourism and Secretary-General’s Distinguished Services Awards will be given to deserving recipients.
Moreover, the organization introduces a new “Hall of Fame” in which they honor the individual who made exceptional and efficient contributions in Caribbean tourism. The Caribbean Women in Tourism Leadership Dinner & Awards is an event which highlights Caribbean culture, and provides business opportunities in the global market.
The event will be attended by prominent ministers of tourism, senior officials, industry executives and representatives from national tourism authorities across the Caribbean region.
