St Kitts welcomed upwards of 44,000 cruise passengers to its shores in the week starting December 7. The week saw several days of multiple cruise calls to the island nation. During the week, the island welcomed 22 cruise ships to the island nation.
The tourism stakeholders shared that on Saturday, St Kitts welcomed two ships Costa Fascinosa and Grand Princess. The Costa Fascinosa came in from Guadeloupe carrying 3,215 passengers, After making a stop at St Kitts, the ship sailed for Tortola. The second ship came from Tortola with approximately 2616 passengers. After their stop, the ship sailed off to Puerto Rico.
The officials have shared that the cruise arrivals have maintained a steady growth in the last week with Sunday, December 7 recording 6,832 arrivals. The passengers came aboard 3 cruise ships, which were Azamara Onward, Norwegian Gem and Norwegian Getaway
On Monday, Ariva, AIDAmar and Silver Ray brought a total of 7,893 cruise passengers to the island. The island welcomed another multi cruise day to the island with Celebrity Ascent and Marella Discovery 2 bringing 4,892 cruise passengers.
Four ships were welcomed to St Kitts on Wednesday and brought more than a whooping 11,000 cruise passengers to the island. Next, during the week, the people of St Kitts saw a rare five cruise day on Thursday bringing another 5,585 passengers. The ships which had them on board are: Celebrity Beyond, Seaborne Ovation, Marella Discovery, Emerald Azzurru and Star Flyer
On Friday, the island welcomed a total of 2251 passengers aboard Coral Princes and Wind Surf, closing the cruise week. The final digits which come out for the week are extremely telling of the fact that the island has been a preferred destination for cruise lines aand that the tourism sector is on a steady rise. The week of arrivals has brought significant business opportunity to the island.
The officials have shared that the passengers experienced the hospitality of St Kitts and Nevis during their visit and gave business to tour operators, taxi operators,, small businesses and more.
