St. Kitts Tourism Authority Hosts Delisle Walwyn Youth Tourism Congress 2026

The Delisle Walwyn & Company Youth Tourism Congress 2026 was held on Thursday 14, May 2026 at St. Kitts Marriott Resort. It was a prestigious national youth forum and public speaking competition where students from across the island participated in intellectual debates on supporting local tourism.

The event was organised by joint efforts of Delisle Walwyn & CO. Ltd and the St. Kitts Tourism Authority.  The collaboration between both organizations reflects a strategic public private partnership which provides the platform to the students of the island where they can exchange their ideas towards the development of the tourism sector.

The first place and title of Junior Tourism Minister was secured by Rainier Martin, student of the Washington Archibald High School with 373 points along with a $1,500 cash prize. Her performance in the event was full of confidence, her ideas and points reflecting her intelligence and presentation skills.

The second place with 351 points and $1,000 cash prize was won by the Arianna Blanchard student of the Basseterre High School. In the event she represented very innovative points in boosting the local tourism sector. 

Zarique White from the Verchilds High School secured the third place in the competition with 342 points and secured the $5,00 cash prize. St. Kitts and Nevis Anguilla National Bank (SKNA) sponsored the winners’ trophies and cash prize.

Minister of Tourism of St. Kitts and Nevis  Marsha T. Henderson and two representative from the  St. Kitts and Nevis Anguilla National Bank (SKNA) felicitated the winners of the tourism congress.

Students from Seven schools across St. Kitts participated in the Delisle Walwyn  Company Youth Tourism Congress 2026 which were:

  1. Washington Archibald High School – Rainier Martin
  2. Cayon High School – Tajahnya Henry
  3. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas Secondary School – Trevor Nisbet 
  4. Basseterre High School – Arianna Blanchard
  5. Verchilds High School – Zarique White
  6. Charles E. Mills Secondary School – Denyjah Matthew
  7. Immaculate Conception Catholic School – Maahi Joshua

During the event, participants presented their ideas about transforming the St. Kitts Tourism industry. Their ideas were focused around enhancing the industry including digital integration, cultural preservation, culinary tourism, and community  centric growth.
