National of St. Kitts and Nevis Kya Crook made history in sports as she secured the third position in high jump. She had the time score of 1.90m at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division 1 Championship. Her event was held on Saturday 13, June 2026 which was also the final day of the championships.
The championships were hosted for four days starting from Wednesday 10 to Saturday 13, June 2026 at the historic Haywards Field in Eugene, Oregon, United States of America. The St. Kitts and Nevis Athletics Organisation congratulated her on their official social media platform along with a note and her winning picture from the event.
According to sources, while performing in the event she represented the St. Kitts and Nevis by wearing twin island inspired calf sleeves along with the United States calf sleeves. She shares deep roots with St. Kitts and Nevis as her father is from the twin island.
The Organisation said, “History has been made as Kya Crooke soared to a remarkable 1,90m clearance in the high jump to secure 3rd place at the NCAA Division 1 Championship”.
In the Championship she represented the University of Arizona Wildcarts and she is an American track and Field athlete and competed as freshman jumper for the high jump event. Notably, Kya Crook originally hails from Fishers, Indiana.
