St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) had completed three years in administration on August 5, 2025. The political party was elected into government after 2022 snap elections conducted across the island nation.
The Political Party has held the government and the office of the Prime Minister for the longest duration in the history of St Kitts and Nevis. St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party was sworn into the government in 2022 with a clear majority of six seats in the National Assembly.
The political party had contested the elections from eight seats in St Kitts and won a majority of the seat on the island, demonstrating the faith of the people in their leadership. Dr Terrance Drew, who was elected Prime Minister, was sworn into the office on August 6.
On the occasion of the three year anniversary, SKNLP has extended their sincere gratitude to the people of the country. They thanked the entire federation for keeping their faith in the leadership of the St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party.
On this occasion, the political party has also urged the people to keep their faith in their administration intact, promising that they are only getting started. In the last three years, St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party has made several advancements in the various sectors.
From healthcare to education and from agriculture to the blue economy, the St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party has made several transformations. Under the St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party Administration, Minimum Wage has increased to EC$500 per week.
This is the highest Minimum wage offered by a member country of the OECS. In terms of education, St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party is delivering a brand new state of the art Basseterre High School. They are also currently rehabilitating several schools across the island to give the students a conducive environment to study.
Over the last years, the health sector of the country has improved exponentially with the procurement of new equipment, new machines and much more for the JNF General Hospital. Recently, a new MRI Machine is also being brought to the country.
In terms of youth empowerment the administration has led several workshops and youth development initiatives aimed towards making the youth ready for the real world.
In the last three years, tourism is also witnessing a boost in terms of tourist footfalls, airlift capacity, cruise arrivals and more. On completing three years in government, SKNLP pledged that they will continue to work for the betterment of St Kitts and Nevis
