Popular dancehall artist, Shaneil Muir has turned her St Kitts Music Festival Appearance on Friday into an interactive talent search. At a time whan artists would announce their performance through a flyer and talk about the dates and times of the performance, Muir made the audience part of her appearance at the Music Festival.
The artist took to her social media days ahead of her scheduled performance at the Music Festival and urged her fans to participate in an online activity. She asked her audience to to upload videos of themselves singing or rapping.
The winning entries stand a chance to win a special prize connected to the event: The St Kitts Music Festival. This unique method of promotion not only gave her fans the information about Shaneil’s performance, it also made the fans more permanently a part of the experience.
The unique act of promotion also brought renewed attention to the three day musical extravaganza. The officials have shared that the three day event is expected to see a massive crowd of fans and music lovers.

This year, the festival is being staged for the 28th edition and the scale of the event is much bigger than the previous years. This year, the local DJs are performing and fringe events are being hosted as a part of the three day event throughout Basseterre.
Another interest factor about this year’s staging is that each night of the three day event is dedicated to a different genre. Muir and other dancehall artists from all over the region and the world dominate Friday. The other two days of the festival Thursday and Saturday lean into classic R&B, soca, and roots reggae.
