Billy Chung, Second Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in St. Kitts and Nevis presented two hand-painted acrylic paintings to Prime Minister, Dr. Terrance Drew and Nevis Premier, Mark Brantley. The handing over of the acrylic painting by the secretary marked the completion of his assignment in the federation before returning to Taiwan.
According to the Taiwan Embassy, the paintings presented by the secretary were symbolic farewell gifts presented to express gratitude to the federation and appreciate the friendship and cooperation between the federation and Taiwan. The paintings were handed over on Wednesday July 22, 2026.
The painting presented to Dr. Terrance Drew features the iconic Brimstone Hill Fortress facing the Caribbean Sea. The painting reflects the long-lasting friendship between St. Kitts and Nevis and Taiwan. The painting received by Mark Brantley depicts the tranquil Caribbean Sea embellished with three seashells which were collected by Secretary Chung himself.
Moreover, the Embassy highlights the strong and long standing relationship between St Kitts and Nevis and Taiwan and thanked the federation for continuing to sustain the friendship and cooperation. The Embassy said, “The Embassy sincerely appreciates the friendship and cooperation shared with the people and Government of st. Kitts and Nevis”. The Embassy also shared a glimpse of the painting handed-over by Secretary Chung.
Additionally Secretary Ching also visited the St. Kitts Nevis Defence Force SKNDF Camp Springfield on Monday July 20 for a courtesy farewell visit. There he bid farewell to his SKNDF friends and introduced Ken-Chuan Yang as new Deputy Counselor at the embassy. During the visit both the Taiwan Embassy officials met with Acting Commander Major Kayode Sutton.
The Taiwan Embassy also expressed deep gratitude to Major Sutton along with SKNDF for their collaboration during Secretary Chung’s tenure. The Embassy also reaffirmed the commitment of working closely with the federation to strengthen the relation between embassy and SKNDF through professionalization, development, and capacity building within the Defence Force.
Notably, Billy Chung served as Second Secretary in the Embassy of Taiwan in St. Kitts and Nevis for two years, his tenure started in the year 2024
