The students from Charles E. Mills High School in Sandy Point visited the Robert L Bradshaw Airport for an educational tour. The students were taken to the airport facility on Thursday as a part of the school’s mandate to provide practical knowledge to the students.
During the tour, the students had the opportunity to learn in deep details about the functions and responsibilities of each department of the airport. The St Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority shared several images from the educational tour on their social media.
The organisation has been receiving educational tours from various parts of the world. The programme has been started to provide students insights into various career options after the completion of their education.
The educational tour was led by Customer Service Officer, Chandesha Mills and Communications Clerk, Kimoya Williams. As a part of their tour, the students were given the opportunity to explore several key departments and operational areas across the airport.
The students were taken to the Maintenance department. They were shown the Cargo Shed, ID Badge Training, Airline Desk, Screening Areas 1 & 2.
The students further learned about the departments like Customer Service, Immigration, Security Screening Point, Customs, and Communications. All of this information was shared by the SCASPA on their social media.
The Air and Sea Ports Authority has claimed that the visit was beneficial for the growth of the young minds. They learned about the working of the airport and how travellers move in and out of the island. They also learned different department’s roles in running the airport smoothly
The educational tour provided the students with first-hand insights about the procedures that help ensure the safe, secure, and efficient operation of the airport on a daily basis.
