Samal Duggins, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources made an announcement of Community Beautification activity of cleaning the community places in Challengers Hard Court. The activity will take place on Saturday August 1, 2026 and will begin at 7:00 AM.
Minister Duggins has requested the individuals and groups from the Constituency #4 (St. Christopher) to make the initiative a success. He said, “I am inviting residents, volunteers, community groups and friends of Constituency #4 to lend a helping hand as we clean, refresh and enhance this important community space”.
The Minister further stated that everyone’s combined efforts will help them in enhancing the environment for upcoming generations and it provides a safe and clean space to those individuals who use the Challengers Hard Court space.
Duggins said, “Community pride is built through service. By giving a few hours of your time, you can help create a cleaner, safer and more welcoming environment for our children, families and everyone who uses this important space”.
He also stated that small efforts will make a big impact on the process. He said anyone who can help them in cleaning, painting, landscaping or just lend a hand will make an equal contribution in the success of the initiative.
Moreover, the announcement of the Community Beautification initiatives was shared by Minister Duggins online on his official social media page with a small note. He said, “Let us work together in the spirit of service, community pride, and collective responsibility”.
Notably, this month the Department of Community Development under the administration organized the Anti-Graffiti and neighbourhood beautification campaign. The community activity took place in the McKnight community in Basseterre. On July 7, the activity took place at Durant Avenue in McKnight and on July 8 at the Prickley Pear Alley, McKnight.
All these initiatives reflect the administration and parliamentary representatives’ commitment to developing the island along with enhancing the local environment sustainably.
