The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis met with the Charge D’Affairs, Karin Sullivan on the sidelines of the 51st Regular Meeting of the Conference of the CARICOM Heads of Government. The meeting took place in Saint Lucia where Dr Terrance Drew and
Chargé d’Affaires Sullivan reaffirmed their commitment to continuing collaboration. The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of St Kitts and Nevis towards maintaining strong ties with the United States of America.
During the meeting, Dr Drew and Sullivan made the commitment to the strong and enduring partnership between the two nations. They held discussions on several areas of mutual interest for both the organisations.
The two international leaders highlighted that they will continue to work together and find areas for cooperation. Karin Sullivan and PM Drew have had occasions to meet regularly and discuss areas of mutual interest.
The previous meeting between the two leaders took place in February before the 50th Regular Meeting of the Conference of the CARICOM Heads of Government.
In the aftermath of this meeting, the two leaders collectively launched the LAMAT 2026 medical mission.
The regular meetings between the two leaders have been fruitful to the growth and development of St Kitts and Nevis. The collaborations between the two nations, especially in healthcare, has impacted the people of the island positively.
After concluding his meeting with Karin Sullivan, he participated in Day 3 for the 51st Regular Meeting of the Conference of the CARICOM Heads of Government. Dr Terrance Drew took to his social media to share some images from Day 3 of the event.
He also shared his experience on this day, he shared that these proceedings are an important opportunity for regional leaders to come together, exchange ideas, strengthen partnerships, and work collectively on the issues that matter most to our people, from economic resilience and regional security to climate action, food security, and sustainable development.
Dr Terrance Drew’s tenure as the Chairperson of the CARICOM, drawing for his experience, highlighted that “The strength of CARICOM has always been our ability to engage openly, find common ground, and move our region forward together.”
Dr Terrance drew also said that he is committed to ensuring that St Kitts and Nevis can play an active and constructive role in shaping a stronger, more resilient Caribbean
