Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew met with the senior management of the Demerara Distillers (St. Kitts and Nevis) Limited (DDSKN) and Guyana’s BK Group of Companies. The meeting took place at Government Headquarters on Thursday and saw the authorities work together on discussing the opportunities for growth on the island.
The officials have shared that it is important for the nation to welcome regional and international businesses to expand their presence on the island. The Demerara Distillers (St. Kitts and Nevis) Limited have been operating on the island for nearly three decades.
The business has been contributing to the economy of the country by creating jobs and opportunities for locals. The images from the meeting were shared across social media, highlighting the success of the discussions which took place.

The discussions centered on a major proposed development by Demerara Distillers that will significantly expand the company’s presence in St. Kitts and Nevis.
Operating in the Federation since 1996, Demerara Distillers (St. Kitts and Nevis) Limited has grown into one of the country’s leading manufacturers and distributors of premium spirits and beverages.
The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis also met with the members of the BK Group of Companies. They are one of Guyana’s largest privately owned conglomerates, with major investments spanning infrastructure, aviation, construction, mining, tourism, shipping, and quarrying.
Later in the day, Demerara Distillers is expected to officially break ground on its new facility in St. Kitts. The groundbreaking is marking another significant investment in the Federation and reinforcing confidence in the country’s economic growth and investment climate.
