The St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services has successfully concluded its Annual Summer Safety Programme. The event is hosted every year with several children from across the island nation participating in the camp.
The organisation has shared some images from the event on their social media account to highlight the successful conclusion of the programme. Every year, the organisation brings the youngsters of the island to teach them valuable life lessons.
The officials have shared that the Annual Summer Safety Programme came to its conclusion with a march and parade through the streets of Basseterre, celebrating another successful year.
The event was hosted for several days and the children engaged in several unique and productive activities. The officials have shared that over the course of the programme, nearly 100 children from across St Kitts participated in the programme.
They had the opportunity to engage in interactive sessions designed to build lifelong safety awareness. The activities included Fire Safety and First Aid to Water Safety, Traffic Safety, Disaster Preparedness, Mental Health, and Crime and Violence Prevention.
The officials have shared that during the course of the multi day programme, participants gained valuable knowledge and practical skills to help them make safe and responsible decisions.
The closing parade was termed as a most fitting celebration of the children’s achievements. The children proudly marched through the capital alongside members of the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services. The parade went on showcasing the confidence and discipline developed throughout the camp.
The people of the island took the opportunity to congratulate the youngsters on their success in completing the programme. The people can be considered future ready and better equipped to make a smart decision if they were faced with an emergency situation.
