Mark Brantley, the Premier of Nevis, Minister of Finance and Economic represented Nevis Island at the Southpac Offshore Planning Institute 2026 Conference. The Conference was held in Vancouver on 14 and 16 April.
In the Conference Brantley shared the insights on the goals of Nevis Island Administration’s (NIA) towards long-term growth of the island. He stated that NIA is committed to expand and modernize the island’s international financial services sector which helps in enhancing the economic diversification in Nevis.
The theme of the conference was “No Longer Optional”. The conference was attended by leading experts and professionals from different industries including estate and wealth management, offshore financial planning, private banks, international financial services and citizenship by investment.
The experts and professionals had conducted discussions in the light of major global financial changes. In the meeting leaders talked about implementation of influential measures such as new regulations, economic uncertainty, tax planning needs and cross border wealth strategies.
Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley mentioned that his attendance at the conference helped in strengthening the island’s position as a premier international financial services jurisdiction. He further stated that the conference gave him an opportunity to engage directly with significant industry professionals who were already working within the jurisdiction.
He said, “I was in Vancouver recently as a special guest of the Southpac group. They are the leading trust services providers in the Cook Islands as well as here in Nevis. I loved this particular conference because it was a small group of dedicated individuals who are industry leaders, business people, and they focused almost exclusively on Nevis and the Cook Islands. I want them to do more business with Nevis”.
Mark Brantly also appreciated the efforts of Southpac Group for organising the direct engagement with key stakeholders and leaders within the global financial services industry. Additionally he also shared the island’s last year financial success as the island surpassed the EC$20 million in 2025 for the first time in the island’s history.
