Jonathan Essien Bardales is travelling to Asunción, Paraguay to represent St. Kitts and Nevis at the 2025 Junior Pan American Games. The young swimmer is an accomplished aquatic athlete and will be competing in several events at the Pan American Games.
The events which the youngster will be competing in during the athletic event include 100m Butterfly and 100m Freestyle. The St Kitts and Nevis Aquatics Federation has claimed that these events are extremely competitive among swimming.
Jonathan will be accompanying his Coach James Weekes to the pan american Championship as a member of his management team. The coach will be responsible for guiding and supporting the athlete as he completes in this event.
The Pan American Games are a major platform for the athletes of the small island nations and the American athletes. The Junior Pan American Games started in the year 2021 to incorporate the youngsters in the sports events which were only being held in the adults field
The initiative was created with the aim to promote young athletic talent in the programme across the Americas. The first edition of the event was held in 2021 in Cali, Colombia. This year, the Junior Pan American Games are commemorating the second edition of the games.
This year 4,000 athletes will be competing in different events to qualify for the 2027 Pan American Games.
The Junior Games are open to athletes who are born between 2003 and 2013. The competitors will be able to work towards the adults event. The St Kitts and Nevis Aquatics Federation has shared that the competition is an important step in the career of Jonathan Essien Bardales.
