Dr Terrance Drew spoke to the people of the country about his stroke during the “Praise On The Green: A Nation Gives Thanks” a thanksgiving service hosted on Sunday evening at 5:30 PM. He said that exactly eight sundays previously, he woke up to significant dizziness and issues with his balance.
He said that he realised what was happening and immediately reached out to doctors to follow up. This day, he underwent scans and testing, establishing the cause of the concern and was taken to the JNF General Hospital.
As per the Prime Minister, he went to the JNF General Hospital late in the day and the doctors at the hospital helped in giving him the initial treatment. He underwent a series of tests to make sure that he was healthy.
He explained in detail the exact cause of his stroke and confirmed that he had taken some deep neck massages the week prior to when he experienced the symptoms. He explained that because of the massage, he suffered a tear in his left vertebral artery.
He also ensured the people that at no point during the first day when he was in St. Kitts and Nevis’s JNF General Hospital, did he lose his consciousness.
He said that he was constantly exhibiting good blood pressure and cholesterol levels which was surprising for his doctors. He highlighted that he was thankful to the staff and doctors at the hospitals where he received his treatment.
He also spoke about the spiritual experience which he had in the initial days of his recovery and informed the people that he was greeted by god. According to Dr Drew, god asked him if he was connected to god and if his intentions were good in his life.
He expressed that his experience made him believe that there was still hope for the world they live in. He concluded his testimony of the time that he was unwell with a call for the people of the country to continue to pray and continue to search for god while keeping their intentions clean.
Afterwards, the members of his federal cabinet came on the stage to join Dr Terrance Drew participated in the anointing prayer.
