Dr Denzil Douglas, who handles the responsibility for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the government of St Kitts and Nevis has completed 14 years as a member of Her Majesty’s Privy Council. 

The appointment of this rare and distinct honor was made in the year 2011 by Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of his longest standing service to his country. The membership of the privy council is a very rare honor bestowed on leaders who are distinguished statesmen.

Dr Douglas has served as the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis for the longest uninterrupted tenure from 1995 to 2015. The Former Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis has been serving diligently as a member of the Privy Council. 

His significant national influence has earned him the lifelong title of Right Honorable which comes before his name in honor of his accomplishments and national service.

The appointment of Dr Denzil Douglas to the Privy Council serves a symbolic and diplomatic acknowledgement of:

The Former Prime Minister’s  regional influence,

The Minister of Foreign Affairs’ international partnerships, and

The Minister’s decades-long public service to the Caribbean and Commonwealth.

The nation considers this fourteen year anniversary as a proud moment for them as the smallest sovereign state in the Western Hemisphere gets globally recognised for their leaders. The honor is proof that St Kitts and Nevis can produce remarkable leaders who command respect and authority all over the world. 

With the completion of the 14 year anniversary, the world is honouring the National leader and paying their tribute to the work that he has done fo the nation and its people both during hhis 20 years in the Prime Minister’s office and the the last teen years in the various other capacities
