St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival Committee organized the 4th Annual Sugar Mas Awards for the year 2025. The event has been a popular part of the Sugar Mas Calender and pays tribute to the people who have made the national carnival of St Kitts and Nevis extremely special for more than 50 years.
The people who were honored during the 4th Annual Sugar Mas Awards for their contribution were divided in six categories. The officials have shared in the last four years since the beginning of the awards, the SKNCC has honored more than 180 stakeholders from all age groups.
All the stakeholders who were honored for the 4th Annual Sugar Mas Awards were given awards in the following categories:
- Spirit of Carnival Award
- Steward of Carnival Award
- Poinciana Award
- Royal Sceptre Award
- Sweet Strings Award
- Gold Standard Award
All these categories honor different contributions in making the even a success year after and motivates more and more people to take interest in making the next editions of the programme more successful in the future editions of the event.
The officials have shared that the people of the community were also present at the awards evening to see the people honored for their contribution. The people who were honored with the Spirit of Carnival Award were people who were honored for demonstrating interest in the continued growth of the Carnival.
The Stewart of the Carnival award was given to the people who have supported the production, promotion and administration aspects of the Sugar Mas Carnival.
The Poiniciana Award was given to people to honor them for their innovation and their special first successes.
The Royal Sceptre Award is meant for the pageant winners which will be hosted for the pageant winners, National Carnival and Swimwear Pageant participants who have performed well in the national pageants and the regional pageant.
The sweet strings awards honor the musicians who have performed well in the previous editions of the programme. The officials have shared that Gold Standard Award was given to people who have worked to make the event better and better over the years.
