American Airlines is expanding the current preflight testing program to other destinations, further opening the world for customers who want to travel.
The airline would now offer preflight testing options to more destinations than any other US airline.
Preflight testing would be available for all American flights to Belize, St. Lucia, Grenada and the Hawaiian Islands in November.
Robert Isom, President of American Airlines, said that the initial preflight testing had performed well, including terrific customer feedback about the availability and ease of testing options.
He added that the next phase is a vital step forward in the relentless pursuit of America for reopening international driving and travel industry recovery while delivering a positive and safe travel experience.
American would expand its partnership with LetsGetChecked from November 16.
LetsGetChecked is a convenient at-home testing option which includes observation by a medical professional via virtual visit, to offer at-home PCR testing to customers travelling to Grenada (GND), St. Lucia (UVF) and Belize (BZE).
Results may be expected in 48 hours on average.
Testing requirements for each country currently are:
Grenada: Testing must be completed within seven days before their departure.
St. Lucia: Travelers 5 years and older should complete testing within seven days of their departure. Customers cannot board flights to St. Lucia without presenting a negative COVID-19 test result.
Belize: Travelers 6 years old and up should complete PCR testing within 72 hours of their departure.
Pre-arrival registration is compulsory; customers must visit stlucia.org for the latest information on quarantine requirements and travel restrictions.
American is currently operating service to GND, BZE and UVF from its Miami (MIA) hub and later this month it would also launch service to UVF from Chicago (ORD).
In December, the carrier would increase its flying to all three markets with service from BZE to Charlotte (CLT), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), and MIA; from GND to CLT and MIA; and from UVF to CLT, MIA, ORD and Philadelphia (PHL).
