Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris is making enormous attempts to restore the tourism industry of St Kitts and Nevis. After March 2020, this year, the federation welcomed several cruise vessels to the coast. The increased number of tourists under a managed approach helps the country to strengthen its economic activities.

Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris has worked extremely hard to bring tourism back to the country. The country sees an elevated graph of the international and local airlines choosing St Kitts and Nevis as their main location with its efforts. Major airlines such as British Airways, Caribe Air Charters, American Airlines have restarted their flights to the country.

Just a few days ago, the nation registered a special day after COVID-19, as three cruise vessels docked in Port Zante simultaneously. The ships brought many travellers from different spheres of the world to the island. The vessel continues to create many jobs on the island related to the tourism sector.

According to various reports, 60% of the total travellers come to St Kitts and Nevis from the United States, and the other 20 percent of the travellers are nationals returning home.

After many attempts by the government to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 on the island proved very useful, the nation has now reached the appropriate scale of vaccinated population.

The COVID-19 safety protocols put in place by the government also did well to contain the COVID-19 distribution in the country. The protocols include wearing face masks, maintaining social distance and hand hygiene.

While the travel protocols at Port Zante have been strengthened for the safety of travellers, the government has announced that now only fully vaccinated international travellers, citizens and residents are allowed to enter the Travel Approved Port Zante site while vessels are moored at the port. The persons must show their photo ID and the original or selected copy of the vaccination card for access to the retail stores, bars, restaurants and casinos.
