Delta Flight 1986 arrived in St Kitts and Nevis’ Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Delta Flight is the first flight of its kind to the Federation since the opening of our borders, bringing residents and tourists.
This rekindled flight route further supports the government in its phase approach to reopening the tourism industry safely and efficiently.
On March 20, Delta Air Lines announced an ambitious extension of its summer flight schedule. The airline is extending the service to popular outdoor destinations to help match the demand for leisure travel. The onset of the COVID pandemic should lead most visitors to gather at exceptional destinations that allow wide, free outdoor spaces. Over the winter, airlines have focused their expansion on ski destinations like Montrose / Telluride and ski destinations like Miami. But for the summer, the expansion will focus on forest fields and the northeastern shores.
Under expansion plans, Delta has relaunched several global routes into the Caribbean region. It began on June 5 and continues in the following ways; Grand Cayman-St. Kitts, Roatan, Bonaire.
In addition, st. Both Roatan and Bonaire will restart the service to Atlanta three times a week.
Delta’s expansion is in line with the ambitious plans of other airlines for the coming summer season. Travellers favouring leisure, outdoor destinations for travel and business trips are still unrecovered and will likely return slowly. Earlier this year, the airline announced expansion plans for Alaska for next summer.
The announcement corresponds to these plans for the lower 48 of the United States. Delta’s extension focuses on improving connectivity through the airline’s centres. Many destinations will now have options on both shores, offering more choices for travellers. The airline hopes that by offering more options, travellers are more likely to opt for their leisure trips. Additional airlines are making similar moves across their networks, but for now, Delta seems to be the most aggressive in its expansion plans.
