It is expected that Hurricane conditions would reach Bermuda by Sunday night or by early Monday.
The National Hurricane Centre said that the preparations for protecting life and property should be hurried as the winds are foreseen first to reach the tropical storm strength by late Sunday, making outside preparations dangerous and risky.
A hazardous storm rise is expected to cause significant coastal flooding in areas of onshore winds in Bermuda. The rise would be accompanied by large and dangerous waves near the coast.
The centre of Tropical Storm Paulette at 8 pm on Sunday was located about 415 miles southeast of Bermuda.
It was moving towards the west-northwest direction at about 15 mph.
A west-northwest or northwest motion is forecast for Sunday night while a turn toward the north is forecast on Monday with a decline in forwarding speed, followed by a northeastward motion on Monday night and Tuesday.
The maximum strength of the winds is near 70 mph with higher gusts.
Tropical-storm-force winds are extending outward up to 195 miles from the centre.
The Hurricane Hunter plane has not completed its pattern yet and should provide more information about winds associated with Paulette in the near future.
An increase in the strength of the tropical storm is expected and would likely become a hurricane by tonight.
The NHC said that Paulette is expected to be a dangerous hurricane when it reaches near Bermuda on Sunday night or Monday.
Heavy rainfall is also expected to affect Bermuda on Sunday through Monday, with rainfall accumulations of around 3 to 6 inches.
Swells generated by Paulette are affecting fractions of the Bahamas, the Leeward Islands, the Greater Antilles and Bermuda and would continue to dissipate westward to the east coast of the United States over the next day or two.
