The Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness has said that there will be a “serious” breach of good faith if the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines ship would intend to sail to Jamaica without approval or notice.
It is noteworthy that the Adventure of the Seas, which has about 1,044 ship workers aboard, is expected to arrive in Falmouth on Monday and it has announced that the disembarkation would be done around Saturday.
Meanwhile, till then, some of the workers who had come on the vessel from another ship would complete 14 days onboard in quarantine.
Other persons who had been on the Adventure of the Seas would complete in-cabin confinement for a month.
The vessel had left the Dominican Republic on Monday and headed towards Jamaica.
However, Holness has said that up to this point, no formal date for arrival has been agreed.
Holness said that if it is true that the ship has the intentions to sail into Jamaican waters any without formal approval or notice, while discussions are still ongoing, then this would present a very serious departure from the good maritime practices and the cooperative nature of the dialogue that is going on in this matter.
