Medical internist Dr Terrance Drew is receiving praise and applause for his outstanding leadership in dispensing information on the Global Pandemic of coronavirus with the people of St Kitts and Nevis as well as the people abroad.
For the past few weeks, Dr Drew has been making appearances at several places to spread awareness about COVID-19.
He appeared in “Ask the leader” aired on Kyss 102.5 FM and “Issues” on Freedom 106.5 FM.
In addition to these, he has been present at the public meetings and press conferences by the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP). The purpose of these appearances is to inform listeners regarding the virus and also to support preparedness against the COVID-19 at all levels.
Recently Dr Drew had a word with the students at the Washington Archibald High School and the Dean-Glasford Primary School.
A planned public session with medical doctors at the St Peter’s Community Center was facilitated by way of a live stream from Port Zante to comply with World Health Organisation (WHO) international standards which limit the number of persons at events and places.
Gealta Langley, a retired nurse, praised Dr Drew by saying that he is putting country above his self and that he is serving and educating the people during the crisis of the Global Pandemic COVID19.
She further said that Hon Eugene Hamilton who is Drew’s opponent and Minister of Health has only found it necessary to distribute yellow-top garbage bins at the time when the whole World including St Kitts and Nevis is in a state of panic and fear of the coronavirus.
She added that Elections have consequences and that this is a clear demonstration of the reason due to which the Healthcare in St Kitts and Nevis is in a fragile state. According to her, the present Health Minister Hon Eugene Hamilton is only fighting for his political survival and is otherwise in a deep sleep when it comes to the part of handling the Healthcare and COVID-19.
She said all this in a Facebook posting and added that Dr Terrence Drew is concerned about the people of St Kitts and Nevis. Also, that the Healthcare and Agriculture in the Federation would have a massive boost if Dr Drew becomes the next Minister of Health for the Federation.
Shez Dore Tyson, who, is a technocrat and educator, said that the public sessions by Dr Drew had made her more prepared and ready to face the crisis. She said that she feels more prepared after listening to Dr Drew and the other doctors.
She said that she thanks them as these people are bringing other people out of the darkness and bringing the people into the light by spreading the information regarding the coronavirus to everybody in a manner that they would be able to understand.
She added that Dr Drew is a true leader and he cares for the people.
Dr Drew’s have a presentation on the coronavirus to the faculty and students of the Washington Archibald High School, and the presentation has been welcomed.
The school has posted on its Facebook page that the presentation given by Dr Drew provided the faculty as well as the students with practical preventive measures and was very straightforward. One of the measures suggested by Dr Drew was, in particular, reiterated by the school. It was regarding the use of rags that many students carry around daily, that it is better to use a napkin or a tissue that can easily be disposed of in the garbage.
United States-based Lavi Gumbs, posted that he listened to the live stream and described it as very informative and that it is a brilliant idea in bringing awareness to the diasporas and the people.
He added that Healthcare needs to be the first priority of St Kitts and Nevis in 2020 and that it is time when the doctors of St Kitts and Nevis get all the respect that they deserve.
Further, he added to his post that Dr Drew, along with the other Doctors, is doing a great job.
