The reigning Senior Calypso Monarch of St Kitts, King Drewzy is representing the country at the Leeward Islands Calypso Competition in Anguilla. The event is being hosted as a part of the 52nd Anguilla Summer Festival (ASF 52).
The event will start at 8:00 PM and the Kittitian Calypso Monarch is performing in the first spot. The event is being hosted at the Landsome Bowl Cultural Centre in The Valley, Anguilla The St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival Committee has extended their best wishes to King Drewzy for his upcoming performance. The National Carnival Committee has announced that they are standing behind the artist.
The committee has shared that they are confident of the fact that he will be setting the tone and opening the competition with the strength of the Federation behind him.
The Leeward Islands Calypso Competition serves as the perfect conclusion of the 52nd Anguilla Summer Festival. The Leeward Islands Calypso Competition is an annual event hosted in Anguilla that closes out the national carnival of Anguilla.
The event welcomes Senior Calypso Monarchs from across the Leeward Islands and the musical giants then compete for the title of the winner in the Leeward Islands competition. The participants of the event will come from Anguilla, which is the host nation, Antigua and Barbuda, Montserrat, US Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands and St Kitts and Nevis..
In 2025, Ge’Eve Phillip, who was representing Antigua & Barbuda was declared the winner of the Calypso competition. King Drewzy was declared the second runner up in the previous edition of the competitio.
This year, Antigua is sending their reigning queen, Queen Ge’Eve to defend her title for the contest. The people of St Kitts and Nevis have high hopes from their own reigning monarch as he ventures into the competition.
