St.Kitts and Nevis Ministry of International Trade is hosting a four day Specialized Services Sector Training and National Stakeholder Sensitization Seminar. The workshop started yesterday on Tuesday July 7, 2026 and continued till Friday July, 10. The Ministry is organising the workshop in collaboration with the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).

The ministry is holding the seminar at the Information and Communication Technology Centre, C.A. Paul Southwell Industrial Site, Basseterre. The workshop brings together key stakeholders across the private and public sector. During the workshop key stakeholders are holding a discussion on exploring active solutions to enhance knowledge of the services sector.

The main objective of the workshop is to strengthen the national capacity along with promoting awareness regarding opportunities and benefits of trade in services. Moreover, for the practical strategies participants share ideas and information though expert presentations, interactive discussion and specialized training sessions.

Through all these initiatives the ministry is focusing on enhancing competitiveness in the service sector along with supporting sustainable economic growth and development along with encouraging innovation in St. Kitts and Nevis.

Denzil L. Douglas, the Minister of International Trade shared that the initiative of conducting a four day Specialized Services Sector Training and National Stakeholder Sensitization Seminar reflects the ministry’s continuous efforts of informing and educating key partners along with skills. As it helps in improving advancing the island presence in the Caribbean region.

Minster stated, “The initiative reflects the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to equipping stakeholders with the knowledge and skills needed to maximize the potential of the services sector and strengthen the federation’s position in the regional and global markets”. Douglas also shared the glimpse of the workshop online on his official social media.

Notably, before St. Kitts and Nevis, the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) organised the same workshop in the Caribbean region with Antigua and Barbuda playing host for the event from June 29 to July 2 and the event being hosted in Grenada from March 16 to 18, 2026.
