Elijah Walters and his Coach Nickhail Rogers returned from the World Sailing Inclusive Development Programme Clinic and Regatta which was held in Antigua last week. The tournament was held from July 21to 27, 2026.

The St. Kitts and Nevis Sailing Association along with the St. Kitts Yacht Club and the St. Kitts and Nevis Aquatics federation welcomed both the players. The organizations also mentioned that they felt proud that the Walters and Rogers represented the federation in the international platform.

The St. Kitts Yacht Club stated, “Well done Elijah, we are proud of your achievements and wish you all the best in the coming years. This is just the beginning, thank you Nick Rogers for your guidance, preparation and dedication in supporting our athletes”.

Notably, Walters and Rogers participated in the first Caribbean Inclusive sailing Championships conducted in the RS Venture Connect. The RS Venture Connect was an adaptive sailing vessel which was specially designed to make the competitive sailing opportunities accessible for the athletes with different abilities and disabilities.

Additionally, Nevis Aquatic and Sailing centre shared the glimpse of Walters and Rogers from the tournament online. The department also shared that the experiences they gained from the tournament will help in federation sailing future along with inspiring the young generation in the island.

The department said, “ The knowledge, skills and experience they have gained will help shape the future of inclusive sailing in our federation and inspire more people to discover the joy of sailing”.

The department also extended sincere gratitude to World Sailing and the National Sailing Academy as they hosted the World Sailing Inclusive Development Programme Clinic and Regatta program. The department further thanked them for investing in Caribbean sailing growth.

Notably, they stated that it was just the beginning and requested the nation’s people to stay connected with them to experience the inclusive development in sailing in the nations.
