Shahdon Winchester, an international footballer from Trinidad and Tobago died at the age of 27 in a car crash on the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway in the country.
The footballer was one of the four people who lost their lives to this deadly fireball car accident. Total of four people died, including the female who is reported to be Winchester’s girlfriend. Winchester leaves behind a three-year-old daughter, born in November 2016.
Winchester’s Nissan X-Trail vehicle is believed to have struck with an extension pole which led to his car being immersed in fires.
He was left caught inside the which resulted in his shock death.
One of the other departed men has been confirmed as Keston Nicholas.
Firefighters reached the scene, and the deceased bodies were removed from the vehicle around 9 am on Thursday.
The entire football society is sobbing on Winchester’s death. FIFA tweeted, “Our thoughts are with the parents, colleagues, friends and team-mates of Shahdon Winchester following the tragic news of his passing.”
The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association have also released a statement following the sudden demise of Shahdon Winchester. “”Sad and Deplorable news lately coming to hand. Trinidad and Tobago forward Shahdon Winchester have been affirmed as one of the persons who have died in a road accident this morning in Gasparillo.”
