West Indies’ Shai Hope stated everyone in the Caribbean is encouraging them and he aspires to contribute as greatly as possible to win matches for the team.
“I just want to recall myself that I am doing this for the whole Caribbean, everyone is backing us. It is just concerning finding that impulse and do whatever I can to make the team across the path,” Hope said in the pre-match press conversation here on Tuesday.
Hope cracked a glorious century in the first ODI facing India, delivering his side a bulky eight-wicket win over the hosts. With this winning, West Indies have earned a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Hope said that his formation remains the likewise and it is just around adapting to the facade he is playing on.
“It is about believing the method. My training endures the same it is just regarding staying able to adapt to each facade you play on,” he said.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) auctions are merely around the corner and when questioned if that provides extra impulse, Hope said the ongoing series is the superiority at the time.
“That is subsidiary; we came here to play a series versus India and to win the series against India. Whatever gets secondary, that is secondary. India series is the central thing right now,” Hope said.
The second ODI amid West Indies and India will be performed on December 18.
