Ministry of Education arranged a training for the French teachers working with the secondary school students. The officials have shared that the members of the educational community have to be working with the teachers to improve language teaching.
The officers have shared that the training was done at the start of the new school year, September 1, 2025. The Ministry of Education of St. Kitts and Nevis worked in collaboration with the Alliance Française.
The Ministry has organized events similar to this one to get the teachers across the federation ready for the new year. The language teachers in French were brought together under a single roof to help them learn and prepare for the new year.
The Ministry has shared that it was very important for the teachers of the country to work on improving their standards. The officials have shared they want to motivate the teachers to get better with their skills.
The Ministry claimed that they want to improve the french teacher effectiveness in teaching modern languages. The stakeholders have added that they are trying to use dynamic, student-centered strategies,”
Key Focus Areas which are being utilized with respect to this training programme included CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). The authorities have shared that they are using CEFR to set clear learning goals, assess progress, and prepare students for the DELF examinations.
Communicative & Action-Oriented Approaches: Prioritizing real-world tasks, meaningful interaction, and learner autonomy.
The training progranmme also included the use of Interactive Activities for the teachers to engage in. They were given the chance of Designing engaging lessons with games, task-based learning, and collaborative projects.
The authorities have extended their gratitude to all the attendants of the training programme who have made the event a resounding success. A big thank you to all educators who took part and to the organizers for promoting high-quality language education in the Federation,” the Alliance-Francaise St Kitts and Nevis said.
