Caribbean and CBI Nations across the globe have no reason to panic as the United States of America announce new Visa Bond list. Contrary to reports from publications suggesting countries across the Caribbean region was on the verge of facing “Visa Bonds”, the official list from the United States of America does not name any Caribbean/CBI nations.
The list of nations facing Visa Restrictions and Visa Bonds. The list however, does include the names of African nations Zambia and Malawi.
When the reports had started going around the internet on Sunday and Monday, Caribbean nations were in a state of panic. Officially,United States of America was supposed to announce a new Visa Rule. Under this alleged rule United States of America was expected to put restrictions on the entry of some countries.
Media reports were suggesting that Caribbean and CBI nations may be part of the list facing restrictions and Visa Bonds. Some media houses even went ahead assuming that the Caribbean and CBI nations may have to pay upto $15,000 to Enter America.
These reports, originating well before any confirmation came from the official sources of the immigration stakeholders of the US has caused panic across the region. Several unfounded reports and assumptions had caused panic among travellers.
However, the publication of the official list and formal announcement from Washington has put any and all rumors to rest. The official communication from the United States of America has confirmed that the Caribbean nations are not affected by this visa rule.’
This is a major relief for the CBI as well as Caribbean nation as the residents and citizens had been getting worried about restrictions in travel. The diplomatic stakeholders of the Caribbean are happy with the development.
They are cautiously optimistic that the exclusion of Caribbean and CBI Nations is a positive sign for the future of travel opportunities to and from the region. Meanwhile, the visa holders from nations who will be subjected to the Visa Bonds will have to arrive into the US through designated ports.
These designated areas include:
- Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)
- John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
- Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)
The officials have shared that the Visa Bonds will be refunded to the travellers if:
- The travellers depart from US before their authorized stay ends.
- The Visa is not used for the purpose of travelling
- The traveller is denied an entry into the country at one of the designated ports.
