Guyana: An 11-year-old Adrianna Younge found dead under suspicious cicumstances in a swimming pool at Double Day Hotel in Guyana on April 24, 2025. The post-mortem examination of the child is scheduled to take place tomorrow (April 28, 2025) as the public demands fair investigation in the matter of her death.
As per the report, a proper forensic team including pathologist from the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, Barbados Forensic, and Chief Medical Examiner of the State of Delaware Gary L Collins were chosen by the Younge’s family to conduct the autopsy.
The sudden death of Adrianna Younge created choas and ignited national outrage in Guyana, raising concerns about the safety and security of the citizens. In order to extend their support, President Dr Irfaan Ali assured the family to investigate the matter and provide justice to their daughter. He also shared updates on the probe that is ongoing to know the reason behind the tragedy.
Tragic Death leads to Protest in Guyana
Due to the sudden death of Younge, the citizens and residents hosted a protest and demanded justice. As per the reports, her body bore several violence marks, causing rage among the people who took to streets to demand justice for the horrifying incident.
Medical personnel also observed bruises along with swelling on the child’s face and limbs, indicating possible assault before her death. As per the CCTV footage, the victim was seen entering a red and black coloured Toyota Raum, however, the misinformation raised concerns about the foul play in the incident.
Now, the citizens and family members are waiting for the autopsy report from forensic labs, which will reveal the real cause of the death. On Sunday night, the locals in Guyana also hosted a protest with the gathering of hundreds of people who were seen holding placards as they hosted a candlelight vigil.
Notably, Double Day Hotel in Guyana is known for its troubling past as a young mechanic was also found dead in the same pool under suspicious circumstances back in 2012.
