Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew proudly attended the 93rd Annual National Conference of the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) on Sunday, May 18 at the Manhattan Gardens in Lime Kiln, Basseterre. PM Drew put forth a strong message to his party’s supporters while also honoring the achievements of SKNLP and the enduring strength of its people.
This event was a commemoration of legacy, progress, and purpose. The theme of the conference was “Powering Progress: Championing Workers!” During the conference, Minister of External Affairs, International Trade, Civil Aviation and Diaspora Affairs from Saint Lucia, Alva R. Baptiste was the guest speaker.
In a post posted on his Facebook page, the Prime Minister described the national conference as an “ode to the comrades.” He noted that his government has reported great success in just the two and a half years of its term.
Notably, the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party has transformed healthcare, invested in education, revived agriculture, secured pensions, built homes, strengthened national security, and repositioned St Kitts and Nevis as a model of good governance across the Caribbean region.

In his address, the Prime Minister reported that his government is fully committed to national unity, grassroots empowerment, and transformative leadership. He started his address with a bold statement that “There is only one Labour Party” and “only one Drew.”
Further, he praised the efforts of all sectors in society, ranging from diplomatic allies, to bureaucrats, unionists, and long-time community activists, who have contributed to the party’s continued success.
PM Drew also brought up the legacy of pioneers including Sir Robert Bradshaw, Joseph N. France, and Sir Lee Moore, dedicating the honor to the people who laid the foundation for a fair and impartial federation.
He also expressed warm appreciation to his Cabinet and parliamentary colleagues, such as Deputy Prime Minister Dr Geoffrey Hanley and Speaker of the National Assembly Lanein Blanchette, for their tireless dedication throughout the Labour government’s continuing mandate.

“On Sunday, the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party celebrated 93 years — the oldest political party in the English-speaking Caribbean. That legacy is built on generations of people who have served with heart,” shared Minister Duggins in a post on his official Facebook page.
