Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Denzil Llewellyn Douglas welcomed Ambassador of the Republic of Peru, Gustavo Felipe Jose Lembeke Hoyle, on January 21, 2025, on his courtesy call to St Kitts and Nevis. The meeting aimed at strengthening diplomatic ties between the two countries.
During the courtesy call, both Minister Douglas and Ambassador Lembeke discussed their vision and interests in developing both St Kitts and Nevis and Republic of Peru, focusing on the future prospects of collaborations and bilateral growth.
The two leaders talked about several matters that will enhance their contributions in helping their nations’ political relations and economy to grow.
Minister Douglas also presented Ambassador Lembeke with a gift package on behalf of the government of St Kitts and Nevis as a token of a honour, marking his first ever visit to the Federation as a memorable experience.
Minister Douglas appreciates Ambassador of Peru
Minister Denzil Douglas appreciated Ambassador Lembeke and the government of Peru for their continuous engagement with St Kitts and Nevis while identifying some areas with mutual priorities and collaborations like education, diplomatic training, and cultural heritage.
He also shared some glimpses of their meeting on his Facebook page and noted, “On Tuesday 21st January, I warmly welcomed Ambassador of the Republic of Peru His Excellency Gustavo Felipe Jose Lembcke Hoyle, to our beautiful Country and held discussions on very important topics.
Ambassador Lembeke’s Commitment
Ambassador Lembeke expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the warm welcome he received by the Foreign Ministry of St Kitts and Nevis.
During the meeting he stated that Peru is committed to promote political and economic relations with the twin island nation.
He further added that these positive relations will be possible by establishing technical agreements and strategic programming along with collaborations on some of the multilateral initiatives by Peru like natural disaster risk prevention & management, and food security, to strengthen cooperation with CARICOM.
