St Kitts Tourism Authority Participates in ALBA-TCP International Fair, Promotes Island Offerings.

The Ministries of Tourism in St Kitts and Nevis in collaboration with the St Kitts Tourism Authority and other regional islands has participated in the ALBA-TCP International Fair, held in Venezuela, South America.

Significantly, the delegation was led by the Deputy CEO of the St Kitts Tourism Authority Melnecia Marshall and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism in Nevis John Hanly.

The key authorities promoted the twin-island federation as a part of the bold initiative to diversify the destination’s source markets and expand its reach into Latin America.

The St Kitts and Nevis Tourism team also engaged in discussions surrounding tourism development, marketing and promotions, training, and civil aviation.

These key discussions and this partnership is an effort that aligns with the St Kitts and Nevis’ ongoing strategic plan to stimulate demand for the island’s unique offerings and strengthen ties within the Latin America market.

In addition to this, the delegation members also included Goldha Franks, Therez Versailles, and Tajuana Douglas. It is to be noted that their attendance was at the invitation of the Government of Venezuela, marking a significant step in fostering regional and international tourism partnerships.

The event brought together 40 countries, over 300 tour operators, 24 ambassadors, delegates from 47 countries, 3000 national representatives and 19 exhibitors.

High level meetings were held from November 27th to December 1st, 2024 as a part of the Venezuela International Tourism Fair (FITVEN) that aimed to strengthen collaboration and advance innovation in the tourism sector across member states.

Engagements at FITVEN 2024 outlined thee importance of regional partnerships in driving the tourism development and economic resilience.

Notably, the Bolivarian Alliance of the people of Our America-Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) Fair is an alliance of countries based on the principals of solidarity, cooperation, and complementarity.
