The Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley has shared the recent developments and advancements in Nevis including construction of new homes and transformation of Pinneys Beach and the Malcolm Guishard Recreational Park. The government aims to improve the infrastructure to support restaurants and activities there.
The government of St. Kitts and Nevis is investing crucially to bring improvements and advancements in the various sectors including education, health, water, housing, agriculture and social safety among others.
The country’s private sector is also thriving due to such efforts. Premier Brantley expressed his gratitude and pride for the recent developments on his official social media handle (Facebook).
“As I reflect on Nevis’ journey thus far I say Thank God for His blessings. Whilst the government has been investing in continually improving our health, education, road, water, electricity, housing, agriculture and social safety net infrastructure, the private sector has stepped up significantly,” added Premier of Nevis.
Currently, the government is focusing on expanding existing homes and many buildings and new homes are being built and renovated, in particular, two major sites such as Main Street and Chapel Street in Charlestown are under construction.
Another site on Main Street is being cleared for the development. The people of Nevis will soon experience an exciting development of luxury villas by Platinum on the island.
Many investors have experienced a surge in their income by investing in the restaurants and food service sectors of the country. Moreover, several small businesses are receiving an opportunity to expand their network at a regional and national level.
Nevis has witnessed a number of employment opportunities especially in the construction, hospitality and the call centre sectors.
“More and More investors are pouring into the restaurant and food service sectors and many businesses in St. Kitts are seeing the value of investing in Nevis. Across Nevis, small businesses are opening their doors. Employment is expanding exponentially especially in the hospitality construction and call center sectors,” remarked Premier Brantley.
In the manufacturing sectors, the government especially stressed upon the finest quality products and materials. The government has increased the production of rum, beer, furniture, fencing wire, mouldings, processed foods, organic soaps and many more, which will directly boost the economy of Nevis.
The authorities have emphasized on the importance of safety and security of all the citizens, due to which they have installed CCTV programme across the nation to achieve island wide coverage. They are also imposing brand new emergency despatch system, as similar to 911 in the USA.
Such developments and initiatives by the government reflect upon their commitment to transform Nevis into a developed and advanced country.
