Nevis: Premier Mark Brantley is all set to conduct Community Clean in Lower St. Johns Parish on Saturday, 20th April 2024 ahead of Earth Day which will be hosted under the management’s initiative of 21st Annual Clean Island Sweep. This mission is conducted with a vision to promote a sustainable environment ensuring the well-being of all the citizens and keeping Nevis “nice” in several ways.
For the massive cleanup of the community, Premier Brantley has urged the citizens to take their old stoves, fridges, fans and microwaves to the dumpsters in order to create a safe environment in the surroundings.
The items picked from the dumpsters will then later be placed in:
- Cherry Gardens which is next to Chimney Crescent
- Bath Village which is next to Alfred Shop
- Brown Hill which is next to Maisie Bartlette community center
- Stoney Grove which is close to Errol Blake’s residence.
“Residents of those areas are asked to bring all white goods to take to the dumpsters, and we will take care of them free of charge”, noted Premier Mark Brantley.
He has also asked the citizens to leave the white goods outside the gate of their residences if they are not able to take them to the dumpsters. The goods will be picked up by the management team who is working on the mission of keeping the community neat and clean.
Additionally, the citizens will have to just contact the volunteers working on this mission to pick up their goods from outside their gate. Premier Brantley has also shared the details of the numbers at which the citizens can contact for further queries. The numbers shared by him are (869) 662-6003 or (869)667-3371.
Premier Mark Brantley has also asked the citizens to join them in their initiative of keeping Nevis clean and growing together.
The two teams from the Nevis Historical and Conservation Society will be scouring the main road in all parishes. This initiative marks the administration’s unwavering commitment and dedication towards protecting the environment from the hazardous effects of global warming and pollution with the vision of preserving natural resources.
