Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew unveiled the site for the installation of the MRI Machine. He shared that work is currently underway at the JNF General Hospital for the smooth operation of the medical equipment.
PM Drew was filled with joy while sharing the progress of the morgue, which has been on pause for the past 7 years. He took to his official social media handle (Facebook) to share the ongoing projects in the Joseph N France (JNF) General Hospital.
“Significant work is taking place at JNF. The building that will house the MRI is being done. Additionally, the morgue is progressing, for 7 years it was left dilapidated”, stated the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister and his government continue to thrive in the nation’s healthcare sector with the advancement of new medical equipment.
The leader of the twin-island nation, who is also serving as a Minister of Health, kept his word as when he was elected as the prime minister of St Kitts and Nevis, he expressed his desire to enhance the healthcare system of the country for the well-being of the people.
On August 15, 2022, PM Drew called the first official Cabinet Meeting at the government headquarters, where he remarked on the emergence of MRI machines in the country in a short time.
“We promised the MRI, and the money has been allocated for it, and we should have it in short order. I have already received the information from the hospital regarding the type of MRI and so forth, so the whole process is expected to move quickly”, added the prime minister.
He ensures that every person should have access to the machine and tries to keep the cost as low as possible.
Recently, the JNF Facility received an Electroencephalography (EEG) machine in January, marking a milestone achievement, especially considering a large number of people were suffering from neurological diseases. The machine enables accurate diagnosis and fosters better treatment of the patients.
The people of St Kitts and Nevis have praised the government and the health ministry for their continuous efforts.
