Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew extended his warm greetings to the neighboring island Saint Lucia on the auspicious occasion of its 45th Independence Anniversary on Thursday.
In an extensive social media post, he highlighted the independence theme of the nation and added, “Greetings, I extend heartfelt congratulations to our friends and neighbors in Saint Lucia as you celebrate your Independence Day under the theme “Douvan Ansanm: Building a Nation through Unity, Resilience, and Creativity.”
He also assured his support to withstand in solidarity to celebrate and contribute to the achievements and aspirations of Saint Lucia.
Further, PM Drew paid warm regards to their nation’s development. “May the spirit of unity continue to strengthen your nation, may resilience guide you through challenges, and may creativity inspire innovation and growth,” he asserted.
Dr Denzil Douglas- the Minister of Foreign Affairs in St Kitts and Nevis also wished the Government and the People of Saint Lucia on their independence celebration.
“To the Government and People of St. Lucia, happy 45th Independence Anniversary and may our islands and people remain connected as true Caribbean brothers and sisters,” he noted.
Notably, this year’s Independence theme of Saint Lucia is based on Building a Nation through Unity Resilience, and Creativity which starts from within.
The Independence Day in Saint Lucia commenced with the Military Parade at the Soufrière Mini Stadium this morning from 9 AM to 12 PM, followed by an Independence Showcase.
During the parade, all the militants and the Uniformed groups dressed and executed the strong display of their drills flawlessly.
Further, a Seafood Fest at Castries Fisheries Complex was also organized for the communities and militants to immerse in the celebrations with good foods.
These celebrations for the 45th Independence Anniversary of Saint Lucia will continue till April with a series of events and rallies from January 28 to April 6, 2024.
These events are organized by effective partnership with the Ministry of Tourism in Saint Lucia, the Government of Saint Lucia, and OPM Saint Lucia.
These celebratory events will present a chance to the visitors and the youth of Saint Lucia to participate in the celebration of the nation.
