As the St Kitts and Nevis Athletics Association is all set to host the highly anticipated, multi-city TDC Interschool Championship, the consultations on Nevis have continued the preparations.
Earlier on Saturday, the members of the Local Organizing Committee, representatives from the TDC Group of Companies, and the title sponsor for the Championships journeyed to Nevis.
This has been done to continue its consultations with critical stakeholders in preparation for this year’s historic multi-city TDC Interschool Championships.
The team, led by Delwayne Delaney, President of SKN Athletics, met with representatives from the Ministry of Sports and Education Nevis to discuss preparations for the upcoming Championships.
The consultation meeting was led by Troy Liburd, Minister of Sports Nevis and Zahnela Claxton, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Sports, and other leadership team members from the ministry.
To date, the consultations have been extremely favourable as the Nevis Island Administration and the Nevisian community at large have pledged their full support to ensuring the success of the highly anticipated multi-city TDC Interschool Championships.
The team toured the Nevis Athletic Stadium and potential accommodation facilities for the participating schools from St Kitts. Several other site visits and meetings are expected to continue in the coming weeks.
Earlier this week, SKN Athletes announced plans to host a four-day multi-city meet at both the Kim Collins Athletic Stadium in St Kitts and the Nevis Athletic Stadium in Nevis. The Championships are slated for Thursday, March 14th, to Sunday, March 17th, 2024.
Notably, on the first two days, this highly anticipated multi-city TDC Interschool Championship, i.e., on March 14th and 15th, will include field events only. These field events are scheduled at the Kim Collins Athletic Stadium in St Kitts.
While on the last two days, i.e., March 16th and 17th, the events for the Championship will take place at the Nevis Athletic Stadium, Nevis.
Meanwhile, the SKN Athletics Association extended their delight and thanked the Federal Government of St Kitts Nevis, Nevis Island Administration and the TDC Group of companies for their sponsorship commitments so far.
The association also welcomed all to pledge their full support to the championship games as we aim to continue to develop track and field as a leading sport in St Kitts Nevis.
