Konris G M Maynard has been invited to speak at the 8th Caribbean Sustainable Energy Forum (CSEF) in Kingston, Jamaica, from Nov 7 to 9.

CSEF 2023 is going to be hosted by the CARICOM Secretariat and the Caribbean Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (CRE) during CARICOM Energy Month in November, with financial support from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), the Jamaica Electric Vehicle Association, and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
Other ministers attending the Forum will include Melford Nicholas of Antigua and Barbuda, Rodwell Ferguson of Belize, Dr Vince Henderson of Dominica, and Senator Richie Sookhai of Trinidad and Tobago.
The Priority areas for discussion include:
- The Caribbean Electric.
- It was electrifying the transport sector.
- Decarbonising difficult-to-electrify segments of the transport sector and integrating electric vehicles into power distribution networks.
The attendees are also expected to have the opportunity to visit established renewable energy systems in Jamaica, with site visits planned for the Wigton Windfarm and the JPS Operations Centre.
The biennial Forum will provide an extraordinary resource as they prepare to present to the National Framework for a Feed-In Tariff and Electric Vehicle Policy.
The St Kitts and Nevis delegation includes Mrs Shaniqua Carey-Brown, Senior Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Energy, Mr Denasio Frank, Energy Officer in the Energy Unit and Mr. Clement Williams, General Manager of SKELEC.
In conclusion, Konris G M Maynard added that their participation would be fully funded through sponsorship by CSEF partners.
