The health department of Nevis has partnered with the primary healthcare institution of the island, Alexandria Hospital, to offer the island’s people a free mammogram screening facility. The Ministry of Health in the Nevis Island Administration is committed to providing the best in-line facilities to the people. The initiative to provide free Mammograph screenings is a part of that commitment.
The Ministry of Health in Nevis teamed up with the radiology unit of The Alexandra Hospital for the initiative. The Ministry team encouraged women and men 40 yrs and older to take advantage of the FREE Mammogram screening offered at the Alexandra Hospital. Mammography screening is one of the preventive measures to protect people from several life-threatening issues.
The Ministry of Health promotes the welfare of the people of the twin islands. The team at the health ministry shared some basic information on the initiative. The free initiative will be made available for the general public throughout the rest of the week. The country’s people will benefit from the initiative as it can prove highly beneficial and even life-saving.
Usually, these screenings come at a considerable financial cost. However, with the new development, people can take these preventive screenings for free and start their treatments at an earlier, curable stage if a disease pops up in the screening.
Usually, doctors recommend mammography screenings to men and women upwards of the age of 40 years. The doctors can also advise the patients about this screening in case of any untoward indications, such as any symptoms. The Health Department of Nevis has claimed that all the people of the country taking advantage of the screening must have a prescription from the doctor.
Further, the people are directed that the people must take an appointment ahead of timme in order to get their screening. The screenings will further cost $200 after the expiration of the free time period.
