An agreement regarding visa waiver between the United Arab Emirates and the Commonwealth of Dominica has come into force. The agreement has the immigration entry privileges to which citizens of each country will be entitled.
The agreement has been signed by Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, the Minister of State for International Cooperation. The agreement facilitates arrangements under which the persons who have a UAE passport which might be a diplomatic, official, special and ordinary passport. Such persons can obtain visa-free entry to the commonwealth of Dominica.
Further, under the agreement, the persons holding Commonwealth of Dominica diplomatic or official passports will be given visas on arrival at all UAE ports of entry.
The persons who hold ordinary Dominican passports will be allowed to secure e-visas for entry to the UAE via the official UAE websites.
Hubert Charles, the Ambassador of the Commonwealth of Dominica to the UAE, said that the agreement is another essential step in the formation of strong bilateral relations between the Commonwealth of Dominica and the UAE.
The agreement will not only facilitate official travel but will also introduce predictability and certainty for the citizens of both the countries who are interested in travelling for the purposes tourism, investment, trade and also cultural purposes.
The visa waiver agreement has been introduced after the official opening of the Embassy of Dominica in Abu Dhabi, recently.
The Embassy will enable Dominican diplomats to continue the collaboration and developmental cooperation with the UAE Government representatives in all the spheres, including the political, economic, and cultural areas.
The Embassy will also be engaged in the provision of consular services to citizens and investors. It includes the small but dynamic community of citizens residing in the UAE.
