In coordination with Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Cricket West Indies (CWI) plans to launch a new T20 tournament called the ‘West Indies Breakout League’ to promote and harness talent within the Caribbean region.
The League is scheduled to run from April 25 till May 10 2025 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad. It will have six teams participating in 17 total matches. The event is open to all players under the age of 30, provided they have played at least 40 List A T20s, but have yet to reach the international 10 cap mark.
The teams set to compete in the ‘West Indies Breakout League’ are Barbados Pelicans, Guyana Rainforest Rangers, Jamaica Titans, Leeward Islands Thunder, Trinidad & Tobago Legions, and Windward Islands Infernos.

- April 25 (7:00 pm) – Trinidad & Tobago Legions v/s Barbados Pelicans

Director of Cricket for CWI, mentioned that the tournament will help so many skilled players attempt to break through and reinforce their experience in the T20 pool.
He also said that he is eager to work with the CPL and ensure a solid foundation for the emerging talent in the West Indies.
