A politically motivated social media page has been spreading inaccurate lies and misinformation with respect to the Citizenship by Investment Programme (CBI) of the country. The Chairperson of the Citizenship by Investment Unit of St Kitts and Nevis has just concluded a five day road show to China promoting the programme to international investors.
The success of the roadshows and the increasing reach of the country’s citizenship product is being used to advance a negative narrative for the administration of St Kitts and Nevis. Dr Drew’s remarks from the December 2023 budget address are being dragged back to create a negative narrative.
The politically motivated organisation has shared that the Prime Minister is crawling back to the Citizenship by Investment Programme of St Kitts and Nevis. The organization also asserted that they are using the funds from the Citizenship by Investment Programme of the country.
The media shared that the Prime Minister has been advocating for an economy that is not overly reliant on the Citizenship product. While this is true, the Prime Minister’s words can not be taken to mean that they will be taking all the attention off of the programme.
The Citizenship by Investment Programme of St Kitts and Nevis has been undergoing several advancements. The administration, under doctor Terrance Drew has been working hard to retain and maintain the programme in accordance with the international standards.
Further, St Kitts and Nevis administration is working hard to take the other sectors of the economy forward. The efforts are being made to make St Kitts and Nevis a respectable name in the creative sector and agriculture sector.
The administration is also bringing innovations to the healthcare and education industries. As such it is most unfair to claim that the administration is relying exclusively on marketing and selling the Citizenship of the country.
These claims are not only derogatory to the efforts of the administration but also take away public faith from the development that is being done in the country. These negative narratives are hurting the people’s faith in the development of the country
