St. Kitts Tourism Authority has been promoting the island in international markets with the aim of bringing more cruise visitors footfall and stayover. SKTA is conducting the promotions at roadshows in UK, which is one of the federation’s target markets.

The authority has shared that they have hosted and interacted more than 200 travel agents in five road shows. The road shows were hosted in several cities across the United Kingdom.

The officials have shared that they engaged with the travel agents during workshops, receptions and dining events.

The tourism stakeholders of St. Kitts and Nevis promoted the country as a tourism destination in Leeds, York, London, Birmingham and Nottingham. The officials have shared that the stakeholders gave all their travel agents a full experience of the destination during each event.

They experienced the cuisine of St. Kitts and Nevis along with the unique rum and culture of the country. The officials have shared that UK sales and marketing consultant Chelcie Lewis and UK trade sales representative Suzy Trott were also part of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority Team.

They talked to the travel agents about the destination and provided briefs covering the island’s accommodation, experiences and key selling points. The aim of the brief is to help in boosting agents’ ability to sell St Kitts with confidence.

The roadshow began in York with a Kittitian-themed cookery class for 12 Yorkshire agents at The Grand Hotel. Later the team also travelled to Leeds, where another 25 agents joined a welcome drinks and canapés reception at the city’s Cut & Craft restaurant.

In Nottingham, 20 agents took part in a Kittitian chocolate masterclass at Deli-Cious Chocolate in the National Justice Museum. In Birmingham, 20 were invited to a cocktail masterclass at Malmaison, before the roadshow series concluded in London with a ‘lunch and learn’ for 15 agents at Bluebird Chelsea.

The roadshows also saw Prize draws where agents won places on a St Kitts fam trip in 2027: Sue Lindsay from Brilliant Travel in Birmingham and Jason Washington from CC Travel in Leeds won the prize.
