Basseterre, St. Kitts: The Order Paper has been issued for a sitting of the National Assembly to be held at the National Assembly Chambers, Government Headquarters on Friday, June 14, 2024.
The reading of the bills will take place at 10:00 in the morning. Three Bills will receive their first reading, while three others are scheduled for their second reading.
Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Terrance Drew, who is also responsible for the Ministries of Finance, National Security, Citizenship and Immigration, Health, and Social Security, will introduce and read out the first-time bills entitled Limited Partnerships (Amendment) Bill, 2024 and Foundations (Amendment) Bill, 2024.
PM Drew will be joined by Dr. Joyelle Clarke, the Minister of Sustainable Development, Environment, Climate Action, and Constituency Empowerment. She will introduce and read out the first-time bill, the National Conservation and Environmental Management Bill, 2024.
Prime Minister Terrance Drew will also move the second reading of the bills entitled Citizenship by Investment Unit Bill, 2024; Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Bills, 2024; and Immigration (Amendment) Bill, 2024.
The Citizenship by Investment Unit Bill, 2024, received its first reading on March 26, 2024, while the Anti-Smuggling for Migrants Bill, 2024, and Immigration (Amendment) Bill, 2024, had their first reading on February 22, 2024.
The hearing of these bills at the National Assembly will be broadcast live on ZIZ Radio (96 FM) and other radio stations that will participate in the reading coverage. It can also be viewed on TV Channel 5 in St. Kitts and Channel 98 in Nevis. Additionally, it will be streamed live at www.zizonline.com.
