The Ministry of Education of St Kitts and Nevis has partnered with leading education technology provider Fortunapix to transform the world of education by digitizing learning systems across the Union using the OneLern platform.
On November 29, In Focus radio and television program, Fortunapix senior director Satyajit Behera emphasized the versatility of the OneLern platform. He explained that the platform is basically compatible with many platforms and devices, as it is compatible with laptops, tablets, and Chromebooks. There are no limits to the forum for specific devices.
OneLearn’s library feature provides digital interactive textbooks, ensuring that students have access to learning resources regardless of their internet connection.
Behera demonstrated the offline capabilities of the platform using books and videos without an internet connection. This feature is a testament to OneLearn’s commitment to inclusion and accessibility in education.
The platform goes beyond traditional learning materials and includes interactive videos, quizzes and activities. He also emphasized that teachers can create customized tests, including multiple-choice tests that are automatically scored, making the work of teachers more efficient.
The analytics function provides personalized reports for each student, allowing teachers to monitor progress effectively. OneLern acknowledges the response to global challenges, such as shutdowns caused by the 2020 pandemic, and also offers features adapted to situations such as the COVID-19 epidemic, enabling the seamless continuation of education through real-time virtual classes.
The OneLern program is pre-installed on laptops and tablets that are presented to students as part of the Learning Continuity and Engagement project.
The Ministry of Education is enthusiastic about OneLern’s impact on change and support for the education system. Its implementation has a direct effect not only on students and teachers but also on the entire education system joining the Union.
