St Kitts and Nevis for the first time in its history, welcomed the largest crowd of visitors with 11,334 passengers visiting the federation aboard six cruise ships on Thursday, December 26, 2024.
Moreover, J’ouvert was also celebrated on the same day, marking another milestone for the twin island nation, and offering the visitors with a taste of their culture and festivities.
The influx of visitors created a boost in tourism and local businesses, during the Christmas and National Carnival season of St Kitts and Nevis.
This increase in tourism will help the nation generate more revenue, contributing in building St Kitts and Nevis’ economy while also producing more employment opportunities.
With the arrival of visitors it also showcases the island’s popularity, travelers love for it, and the island’s capacity to accommodate such a large crowd of people.
During their stay, the visitors explored the island’s historical landmarks including St Kitts Scenic Railway, Brimstone Hill Fortress, along with the Carnival events, showing the island’s traditions and cultural dance and music.
The tourists also brought financial opportunities with high hotel occupancies, increase in use of taxis and tour guides, and more rush on streets, helping vendors make more profit.

She further added that the excitement for both the Carnival and Christmas celebrations, gave them an opportunity to show their culture, hospitality, and stunning landscapes.
Minister of Tourism also stated that St Kitts will welcome visitors throughout the Carnival season, while encouraging sustainable tourism, maintaining the island’s natural beauty.
Additionally, the Ministry of Tourism, made preparations to ensure that all the visitors have an unforgettable experience, with a wide range of traveling options, from local craft markets to cultural displays.
