St Kitts and Nevis celebrated International Men’s day on November 19, 2022. Various leaders of St Kitts and Nevis extended their wishes to the male role models in the society and federation to commemorate the occasion.
The celebration theme was: “Gender Equality: The role of our men and boys in building and maintaining positive relationships.”
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Denzil Douglas, the parliamentary representative of the sixth constituency, took to his Facebook account to commemorate the occasion and extend his greetings.

Other prominent leaders of St Kitts and Nevis, including the Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Geoffery Hanley, also extended their greetings. Dr Hanley wrote, in his appreciation post,

Further, the Junior minister responsible for the ministry of gender affairs also delivered an International Men’s Day address.
In her address, she reiterated the roots of the celebrations. She stated that the day is set aside for improving gender relations by promoting positive expressions of masculinity and highlighting male role models.
Junior Minister Phillip further stated that the occasion aims to celebrate men’s health and honour their sacrifices and achievements who keep the value of building positive behaviours in contemporary society. The international theme for the celebration is “Helping men and boys.”
According to Junior Minister Phillip, the local theme of St Kitts and Nevis, “Gender Equality: The role of our men and boys in building and maintaining positive relationships.” prioritizes positive relationship building as a primary aspect of shifting violent realities around domestic and gender relations.
She believes that both the themes, International and local, are most accurate in the backdrop of the situations that St Kitts and Nevis and the world face today.
She urged all the citizens to help the men understand the true sense of what it means to be a man. She also urged them to help the men and boys of the federation to fight the negative steeotypes surrounding masculinity.
