St Kitts and Nevis have welcomed the members of the youth parliament Association of Antigua and Barbuda. St Kitts National Youth Parliament welcomed the eight-member delegation of youngsters from the island nation of Antigua and Barbuda for a joint session which woill be hosted on Friday, November 25, 2022.
The visiting youth parliamentarians are in St Kitts and Nevis to participate in the inaugural Sitting of the Joint Youth Assembly. The inaugural sitting will take place on Friday, November 25, 2022, at the National Assembly Chambers at Government Headquarters.
During the session on Friday, the two parliamentary associations will discuss three legislative items on their agenda. These items include:
- The Age of Majority (Amendment) Bill, 2022
- A Resolution by the Joint Youth Assembly of St Christopher & Nevis (SKNYPA) and Antigua & Barbuda to commission a Health Investigatory Select Committee
- A Resolution by the Joint Youth Assembly of St Christopher & Nevis (SKNYPA) and Antigua & Barbuda to promote integrity and efficiency within the Civil Service.
The parliamentary session will be broadcasted on the ZIZ Channel and all the social media handles of the St Kitts National Youth Parliament. These channels include the official Facebook page of the St Kitts National Parliamentary Association.
The eight delegation members from Antigua and Barbuda will return on Saturday, November 26, 2022.
The various ministers of St Kitts and Nevis, including Minister of Foreign Affairs and former Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas, shared the update of the arrival of the 8-member delegation on his Facebook post. At the same time, he wished that the delegation enjoyed their stay at St Kitts and Nevis.
Deputy Prime Minister Dr Geoffery Hanley also shared the update on his social media, featuring images of the welcome ceremony of the delegation.
